An obsession with creating new worlds to work, play and learn in, and enjoying worlds created by others, led me to where I am now. As a student, I immersed myself in the world of 3D software to grow my tool set to build the compelling worlds that were in my head.
After trying the Oculus DK1, there was no going back – I realised VR/AR was the best platform for those worlds.
You don’t often get to work in a new frontier in your career. VR & AR technology has the potential to solve many problems across many industries. What gets me excited about the PLM space is that it is ripe for innovation using new technologies. There are still many bottlenecks due to the very complex nature of PLM and we are already seeing a positive response from the industry. One such bottleneck is communication between divisions with regard to planning and maintenance. By using the social capabilities of a VR system we can create richer communication.
Rolling up my sleeves and throwing myself into martial arts, rolling dice in a board game, and playing VR games – this is where you will find me when not in front of a computer.
I am a firm believer that to deliver great things you need a great team and to surround yourself with people smarter than yourself!
