Summary

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic QA engineer to join the QA team, where you will be working to ensure the products developed by the company are kept to a high standard of quality. You will be working closely with the other members of the development team to test new features that are implemented and perform regression testing with a keen eye for detail.

You will need to be able to communicate all issues found to the wider team at the company so that any stakeholders are aware of any problems that arise from testing. This includes your day to day reporting as well as notifying members of the commercial team so they are aware of any potential pitfalls during live demonstrations.

You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we expand the scope for one of the larger products currently in development at Masters of Pie, so you will have a large responsibility on the project. You will use various VR/AR hardware alongside our collaborative framework for your duties on a daily basis, so a strong technical understanding of software development is essential.

This role can be in-office, hybrid or largely remote where you will be expected to, on occasion, be able to commute to the office and/or travel (COVID permitting) with the commercial team, to either assist with setting up or provide technical support for other members of the team.

Due to our Defence customers, candidates must hold or be willing and capable of achieving UK security clearance. For further details of the evidence required to apply for Baseline and Security Clearance please refer to the Defence Business Services National Security Vetting (DBS NSV) Agency. Any offer of employment will be conditional on successful clearance before the end of the probation period.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Creating test cases for new features being developed for any of the products
  • Ensuring that tests are kept up to date and are run regularly
  • Performing regression testing
  • Collaborating with developers to diagnose issues reported, both from in-house or customers of the products
  • Assessing the design documentation to ensure that UX remains to a high standard
  • Organising playtests and recording the resulting feedback
  • Supporting demonstrations that are being presented to customers/clients (mix of in-person/remotely

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years experience within a QA capacity professionally (preferably with 3D software such as video games, simulation software or CAD)
  • Experience with bug reporting databases (preferably JIRA)
  • Experience with test management tools (i.e. TestRail)
  • An understanding of the SDLC
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Solid technical foundation (experience dealing with logs or config files)

Desirable Skills & experience

  • Experience with VR/AR technologies
  • Experience with API testing (Postman etc.)
  • Experience with Docker/AWS
  • Familiar CI/CD infrastructure (such as Jenkins, GitLab etc).
  • Bonus: Working knowledge of C# (our core language), C++, Python, Bash or JavaScript.
  • Bonus: Understand low-level concepts in Linux or Windows administration (e.g. building systems from scratch, automating installs, diagnosing issues).
